This course allows students
to explore the possibilities of coloured pencils. Students
learn about the differences between pencil brands and paper
surfaces. The course covers techniques in applying, mixing
and lifting colour as well as burnishing and impressing lines.
In addition to theory and exercises, students gain practical
experience by working on projects (line drawings are provided).

Course Fee: The
course fee is $125.00. Price includes snacks and beverages.
Step by step instructions, pictures and line drawings for the
projects are printed off and given to students. This enables
students to complete projects if they do not finish in class
or they can redo them at their own convenience.
Materials Fee: $10.00.
This fee covers the cost of the print making paper and other
materials that are provided by the instructor. Students are
asked to bring supplies such as masking tape, scissors,
ruler, etc. Students also bring their own coloured pencils.
Upon registration, a complete supplies list is provided as
well as advice on the pencils to purchase.

Beyond the
Basics
This course has been
designed to take students beyond the basics covered in
Introduction to Coloured Pencil. Students will learn how to
work more effectively with colour. Learning how to create
colour harmony in a painting will enable students to take
their art to a new level. Students will practice how to see
colour and will gain a greater understanding of how to use
coloured pencils to create the colours they desire. Students
will learn how to use complementary colours to create colours
with coloured pencils that cannot be created with paint.
Creating value studies, underpaintings, and various basics of
composition shall also be covered. The focus of this workshop
is to provide students with a variety of information that can
be applied to improve their artwork. There will be fun, easy
exercises that will give students greater knowledge and
confidence in these areas.

Drawing
Basics
This comprehensive
drawing course is an opportunity for participants to learn
the basics of drawing. This course is designed for the person
who wishes they could draw but feels they cannot. No previous
drawing experience or drawing skills are required. If you
think you can only draw stick figures, this course is for you.
Anyone can learn to draw! Come and learn in a fun supportive
environment.

Mixed
Media 'Tapestry' Workshop
This workshop is all
about fun and instant gratification. Typically coloured
pencil artists work slowly, paying great attention to detail.
Not in this workshop! Students will work with gesso, paint
and coloured pencils to complete a mixed
media 'tapestry' painting in just a few hours. This workshop
will encourage students to enjoy exploring the use of other
media with their coloured pencils. Please note that you do
not need to have experience as a painter. The steps are very
simple to follow. You do not need experience as a coloured
pencil artist either.
Date:

Workshop Fee: $65.00.
Fee includes all materials - support to work on, gesso and
fluid acrylics. Also, lunch shall be provided. Please note

Coloured
Pencil Portraits
This course will cover many
aspects of portraiture. Emphasis will be on capturing a
likeness by accurately drawing and colouring the various
elements of a face. Students will practice by working on
enlarged examples of facial features such as eyes, nose and
mouth. Line drawings will be provided. Students will receive
instruction and practice in creating skin tones with coloured
pencils. Other areas such as how to pose a subject, how to
handle backgrounds, how to successfully work from
photographs, how to deal with wrinkles, freckles and eye
glasses will all be discussed.

Open
Studio
The open studio will be an
opportunity for participants to get help with their art.
Teresa will be offering individual assistance so bring your
questions and your problems. Please bring whatever project
you wish to work on. If you wish, you may also purchase a
practice kit to work on (click
here to view). Come create, in a fun
supportive environment. This session is open to artists of
all levels of ability. Receive help with a current work, or
start a fresh piece. Perhaps you would like help reworking
something. Do you need help getting started with your
reference photo? Have you forgotten some of the stuff covered
in a class and your knowledge could use refreshing? Teresa
will give you the help you need. This workshop is all about
you and your creative journey! Come out for lots of laughter,
art and good food - yummy desserts and drinks are included.
The candles will be lit and the music ready.
